Carefully install the hygrometer on one side of each box. Ensure that the hygrometer is not in contact with the lid or salt solution.

Spread a 1 cm layer of dry salt (NaCl or MgNO3) over the bottom of the box. Add water while mixing to obtain a supersaturated solution. A large salt layer adequately maintains a constant relative humidity.

Install a rigid and adequately spaced grid at mid-height of the box or higher to support all 6 samples.

Note that two boxes are required, one with NaCl and the other with MgNO3.
